Rihanna : The Superstars Diet And Fitness Secrets

Rihanna,_LOUD_Tour,_Belfast_cropped_2Okay so she’s not technically an actress, but she has dabbled in some movie roles (like last years blockbuster Battleship, and a cameo role in the new James Franco summer comedy  “This is the end” ) plus the simple fact that she has a healthy and hot body means the Barbados born pop star Rihanna has a diet and fitness routine that surely will make a worthy addition to the ElAA blog.

The main thing I like about Rihanna is she always looks super toned while maintaining a healthy looking and very feminine physique. Although she did drop a lot of weight earlier this year to an apparent size 0 (which I don’t think suited her too much and she herself admitted this), she seems to now be back up to around a healthy 133lbs for her 5ft8 frame.

From what my research has gathered the singer follows the 5 factor diet and fitness plan developed by celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak who also trains her best friend Katy Perry, as well as Megan Fox and Lady Gaga. She works out 5 days a week, doing 5 exercise cycles for 5 minutes each (totaling 25minutes) and eats 5 small healthy meals a day. (3 main and two snacks).

It seems the thighs were Rihanna’s main area of concern when she enlisted the help of Pasternak last year as she is quoted to have said

“I love my butt. But my legs are my main focus. Everyone wants slim, perfectly-toned legs and I’m the same.”

Her fitness regime involves lunges and leg lifts to tone her bum and thighs and she apparently carries a “realryder”  spinner bike ( an easily transportable and lightweight bike) as she travels which allows her to workout in her hotel room or backstage before shows. Most of her exercises are also designed so she can easily do them in small spaces and without the need or a gym, just using her own body weight.

She’s also a self proclaimed devotee to cardio, switching between the treadmill, elliptical, bicycle and stair climber when she has a chance to use machines, as she claims it helps keep her thighs slim and her weight down.

As for her diet she loves her native Caribbean food and eats dishes with heavy spices to keep her metabolism revved up. She chooses meals with healthy carbs to keep her energy levels up and has meals like prawns cooked in garlic and lime with a side of steamed vegetables and sweetcorn.

Overll Rihanna’s diet and fitness regime doesn’t seem to be too extreme but rather a nice balance of healthy well timed meals and short but frequent exercise. So there’s no excuse for any of us not to be looking as “Ri”diculously good as RiRi! (lame play on words perhaps?!) :-)

Nevertheless, the more we reveal of these beautiful celebrities “secrets” , the easier it is to see that there’s a pattern and formula that seems to lead to the same healthy and hot-bodied result.

Healthy clean eating and focused frequent exercise.

Not much of a secret is it?
