“Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy”

So you don’t have the kind of bank account that allows you to splash out for top plastic surgeons, or an expensive Hollywood makeover for all the bits about yourself your less than pleased with. You’ve tried a dozen new diets, low-carb, low-fat, low-calorie, low- this and low-that only to find yourself time and time again back where you started, disillusioned, frustrated and perhaps even a few pounds heavier. You look longingly at images of celebrities in magazines and wish you’re skin could look as good as Anne Hathaway’s, your abs as toned as Jennifer Aniston’s or your bum as wonderful as Jessica Biel’s. But you resign yourself to the notion that that kind of beauty is only for the rich and famous. They have the resources and the time to make themselves look that good, and you don’t so you may as well not even bother trying anymore.

Right?! …. Wrong!

Because you can have skin so luminous that it should be on the cover of Vogue, and hair so full and glossy you expect to be called to replace Cheryl Cole any day now in the L’oreal campaigns, and you can have bigger boobs, and a smaller nose without ever going near a surgeons knife and you can of course have a body to be excited and proud to wear a bikini in, dimple-free, toned, bronzed and beautiful.  And as a bonus you’ll enjoy radiant health, buckets of energy and a new found confidence that can’t be bought anywhere!

“How?!” I hear you ask.

I will tell you how, and I’ll share with you how I know this.

I know all theses things, because I’ve been in the entertainment business professionally for over 10 years, and just like the majority of actresses or singers, it is part of the job to look like a star even before you are one in order to stand out, so I’ve tried just about every diet, I’ve been vegetarian, vegan and even tried raw (for like a day but for me it was too time consuming to be tasty!), I’ve tried all kinds of workout routines, some left me feeling amazing, some left me feeling drained of all life, and I’ve adopted secrets and beauty tips from fellow entertainers and from make-up artists to some of the biggest stars in the movie, music and modeling worlds, and to top it all off I decided to educate myself and undertook a course in holistic nutrition. Since then I have gone to India to study yoga and become a certified 200hr yoga instructor, and I’m currently awaiting taking my ITEC exams for personal Training, Anatomy  & Physiology, and Diet and Nutrition.

All of that information smOoShed together has led to me being able to enjoy a delicious and nutritious daily diet where I don’t feel deprived, but reap the benefits, like clear skin, the disappearance of cellulite, strong nails and hair, strong immune system (I rarely even get a cold), and the vanishing of chronic fatigue and more importantly, depression. I know my diet is also full of anti-aging foods and healthy fats that are scientifically proven to help maintain a youthful appearance (no botox for me!) and I know the best beauty products to use, free of all nasty chemicals and parabens, in order to enhance my beauty and look my absolute best!

So this is what this blog “Eat like an Actress” is all about. Many of the stars know these secrets, but since not every one of them are A-listers with personal chefs and millions to spend, they need to know how to look great on a budget too. And their diets are pretty much of the same principle as the ELAA way and I want to share all that information with you, so you too can look like you’re ready for the red carpet!

So let’s get started. The ELAA way is a very holistic approach to diet and beauty, it’s gluten-free, moderate on dairy use, and void of all processed and fake foods made from refined flours and sugar. I have plenty of articles to help you along as well as some great recipes to add to your daily diet. Don’t be afraid to leave a comment, ask anything, let me know what you think and hopefully you get something out of visiting this blog.

And remember,looking good, doesn’t mean a life void of all the good things,  life will still be full of deliciousness and happiness and yes you will still look amazing while eating yummy foods!

Everyones bodies are different, no two people are the same so what works for you may not work for your friend or vice versa because our chemical makeups are all different BUT I promise you, a balanced, nutritious, scrumptious life is achievable for all!

    Love your work! Very inspiring and positive, if only more people would focus on leading a healthy lifestyle to achieve beauty inside and out instead of the negative messages broadcast by the media

    I LOVE all of your information here. I turned 29 in January and am turning my life around. I plan on being the healthiest I have ever been in my life on my 30th birthday! I have been struggling lately with a few different medical issues due to diet and all of your suggestions are right along the lines I need to be. I look forward to reading everything you’ve got!
